Minecraft Hololens Launch Experience - Microsoft
For the world premiere of HoloLens, I led the creation of a Minecraft-based showcase demonstrating the future of gaming in the living room. As Lead UX Designer, I directed the team through the creative process, designed all UX and UI features (including voice controls), authored the demo scene, directed the companion video, and served as a primary host for the global media announcement show.
I also designed the Magic Window feature for HoloLens, enabling content to be rendered inside walls and surfaces where a clear affordance suggests a hole. In the Minecraft demo, the Magic Window was used creatively, such as making it appear as though a hole in the coffee table contained an entire castle.
IMPACT
The team was able to complete a full production cycle in less than 3 months.
Generated highest number of positve media impressions compared with other Hololens demos at the announcement show.
